I have not tried the king of DX lens 17 - 55mm f/2.8 and would love to try this out before deciding to get one myself. However I have tried 50mm f/1.4 which is very good for indoor especially carpark shooting. I do agree D90 kit lens 18 - 105mm 3.5 - 5.6G is good enough for newbies and for those doing shoots mostly on outdoor, anyway you can get a decent 2nd hand around $300+. Here are some photos to share with different lens i have used. Btw, im using D300s too ;)

Nice shots dude. What is the setting for the shots on the GTR?
I'm using a 50mm f/1.8. I realize everyshot I had seem blur when zoom in 200%, therefore I need to check is my setting is out or handshake:confused:

Nice shots, emblef.
Can't tell you how much I want to have a photoshoot with any one of those cars.

As for the TS, I'd highly recommend the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8.
But for more versatility, I think an 18-105mm will do just fine.
Personally I never really liked the 55-200mm (I have one), but that's just my personal preference.

Hi zachseth,
what's the reason you never like 55-200? care to share? Thanks
