dunno.. the lens blows anyway. :D

Anyway if you really want to take pictures in low light, get a prime lens. 1.4/1.7/1.8 is much faster than 2.8.. Although you lose the zoom.

yeah i already have a 50mm F1.8, just want a replacement for my kit lens though and of cuz longer zoom.

now i narrow my choice to Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 or Zeiss 16-80 F3.5-4.5

but still can't decide :(

Ask yourself what you shoot... which range do you use most often... then buy a good lens in that range... it will be well used since that would likely be the lens you reach for most often and will be almost mounted on your camera... that would give the lens really good value since you use it most often... that's how I decide to buy my lenses...

ok it's me again, sorry to disturb u all :P

i got 1 question to ask, anyone compared the IQ and sharpness of a SAL1855 SAM vs a SAL18250 before?

I understand that the SAL1855 SAM kit is pretty sharp as least i am quite happy with it, i wish to extend the range but do not want to compensate on the IQ and sharpness.

I just wish it's as sharp then i am happy becuz guys here says the 75-300 lost out to a 18250.

Damn now i got the following choices:
SAL16105, SAL18250 or the SAL1680Z

Think you wouldnt go wrong with any of the three... ^_^ but I think SAL1680CZ is much more expensive then 16-105 for slightly sharper and less CA.

In order of image quality, build & speed:
CZ 16-80 > SAL 16-105 > SAL18-250

In order of price:
CZ 16-80 > SAL18-250 > SAL 16-105

Note: X > Y means X is better than Y.

Basically for me, the SAL 16-105 gives the best bang for buck.

yes 18-250mm is definitely sharper than 18-55mm & 75-300mm kit lens.

Actually i read the review for 16-105 at dpreview, it don seems to perform really well especially at the longer focal length, when it's compared with the Nikon 18-105, seems nikon is sharper at more range thatn 16-105.

You can't use a Nikon, so why compare with a Nikon? Any review that compares cross platform lenses isn't usin a lot of sense cos the sensor and firmware will play a huge role...

You can only compare between Sony lenses and choose the best for your wallet.

if u are using it for overseas tours and travelling, get 18-250

sold my 16-80 for 24-70 as i found out sony kit lens 18-70 if properly used .. can match closely to 16-80
