I'mgoing up to Bangkok next weekend. Any Lens & cam accessories worth buying there?

Where should shop (if ther are any good)?
What is worth buying?

I'm familiar with bangkok, just have not considered shopping for camrelated stuff in previous trips. Any recommendation or traps warning are welcome.

Recommendation is the shop at MBK Down stair, near the main entrance, (If I not wrong near a bank as well,) in front of the shop show a lot of second hand set, New set also there, reasonable price and most of the staff are if not pro then the photography student.

Warning, the shop on third floor MBK, quote may be cheaper, but it's a trap.

there is an entire buliding at the far end of china town. there are even road side stall that sells camera stuff. but they are all pretty old items.

if you are into film you maybe able to find amny interesting things there.

also there is a row of shops selling lens, lighting equipment etc. price pretty good for assesories light umbrellas, strobes etc. again. they are very near chinatown. sorry that i cant tell you the exact location. maybe there are other CSers...esp those who based in BKK can help indentify these places.

im going there 2 next mth... its my first time there...
so where is this MDK located??

look for pantip plaza, is another IT mall like simlim square, it is next to platinum mall and opp amari water gate hotel. There are few camera shops, things there might not be cheap, but you might want to go over and explore..... the filters are cheap.

Fotofile is the one in 1st floor...they have a website. The one at the 3rd floor is foto friend, the 2 shops are related so I don't think its a trap. I bought a lens from the one at the 1st floor in February before the price drop here.. now i don't see much difference in prices after the drop.. in fact some lenses are more expensive there so u have to check out the prices first. The prices quoted on the website is not 100% accurate as you can still get a discount there.

Not cheap in BKK bro. Was driving around Pattunam area over the weekend and visited Pantip Plaza to get some CDs, saw that there was a Nikon roadshow happening on the ground floor. Prices aren't that fantastic, did some sums and realised that even after claiming VAT, the item would just be slightly cheaper than in SG. Unless you happen to be there otherwise not worth the trouble. Haven't checked out the prices at MBK, so can't comment on that. Hope this helps. :)
