I have had the Leica T for a few days now and I will say that I am smittened by it. I like the interface because it is clean and simple to use. Everyone who uses a smart phone will almost instantly know how to use it. All you need is a maximum of two taps of your finger to get to you to any setting you need. No more unnecessarily complicated menus. Also, it is customisable like any smart phone. You can drag and drop the settings you use most frequently to the start up screen. That ease of use wins it for me.
Most of all, I like the Leica T because it works so well with all my M lenses (using the M-Adapter). Focusing is so easy (less fumbling than when I use my Leica M240 - I admit I still need practice to focus my M240 quicker) and the photos turn out great. If you are thinking of buying the Leica T just based on the kit lens, then I would suggest that you reconsider. There are clearly better and much cheaper cameras that do the same job out there. But if you are already in the Leica ecosystem, or are just drawn to how beautiful the camera is (it really is a joy to hold in your hands), then perhaps the Leica T is for you. It is almost counter-intuitive to fall for the Leica T. It is easy to criticise the camera but as one review out there said, you will soon love it even for its flaws. It's strange, but it's true. Between the Leica T and my M240, I'm afraid the latter is going to be spending a little more time in my dry cabinet than it used to.
