Leica Price List for SG?

Bargaining is normal practice for first hand items. Just do it the right way.

If you want to claim that the item is cheaper at another store, please buy there instead.

I help run retail, and I get this a lot (:

For second hand though, please, bargain before you actually meet the person to deal.

Another one of my mini projects for 2012.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/price-guides/1033863-singapore-leica-camera-price-guide-2012-a.html

- New Leica camera products in Singapore. Difficult to cater for 2H goods, esp those which are out of production.
- Not catered towards "which shop got best price", but more to get a guage of absolute and relative price of products.
- It is not comprehensive at this point... it will require further contributions from CSers to help beef it up with more prices.

This is not an official price list, but a price guide put together by CSers for CSers.

Let me know if you have any feedback or contributions to price guide.

For local Voigtländer and Zeiss cameras and lenses prices, they are available at Chiif Cameras.

For new items, there is a list of recommended retail prices. You can see it at places like Gope's or Cathay if you know them well.

Recently, I have found that for the popular items that have a waiting list, it is actually cheaper to buy it from the Raffles Leica Boutique.

Also in case you guys did not know, there is a new Leica shop being opened by Gope's at Tanglin Shopping Centre, don't know the exact date, but it is about a quarter of the size of the one in Raffles Hotel and decorated like all Leica shops/corners. Dark wood glass display cabinets etc.

Leica Store is just Max Photo Singapore..... :)

Spot-on, well said.

The other issue I've had with selling stuff 2nd hand are the dishonest tactics that arise from some buyers. It seems that the more expensive an item is, the more crooks there are. In a recent case I received multiple emails from different email addresses and supposedly different people. There was a common 'signature' to the way all the emails were written however, so I knew it was all from the same person. As if to confirm my suspicion, this person made a number of mistakes as well which helped me to tie all the emails together.

This 'person' offered me a range of prices, all of which were below my asking price (which I thought was fair). He was probably hoping I'd cave in and stupidly think that my asking price was too high. To finish off this story, I ultimately did manage to sell the lens at my original asking price. Moral of the story here is, if you believe your asking price is fair, don't be afraid to refuse to do a discount.

I don't think there's anything wrong with bargaining. Most people will appreciate saving a few dollars here and there if they could. And the seller is always free to state that their prices are 'fixed' and be prepared to lose the deal if the buyer doesn't wish to pay the asking price.

I agree with you and have witnessed buyer imposing as multiple folks and some were even using different mobile numbers (hint: some of them are in the banned list in CS).

Lol UK is so much cheaper its ridiculous

Think the pricelist has not reflected the 7-10% increase in price of lenses starting from 1 Jan 2012.

But after the VAT, it is still quite attractive. Not sure if there's ready stock for all lenses though.... The 50 Noct looks more reachable in price...... Depending on how much more they will increase from 1 Jan 2012... Provided they have stocks?

Just to share UK price link here http://www.leica-storemayfair.co.uk/price-lists/dec2011/31869 prices photo LSMweb.pdf As tourist we can claim the VAT of 20% of course due to admin charges maybe you get back 18% and from the conversion that's almost 2K off for an M9. :)

But the waiting time is very long, and I was told some will ask for 30% downpayment to put you in the waiting list. Noct's estimated arrival time I believe is two years....

The waiting time is indeed long and i had to pay £500 deposit for a 50mm lux. In the end, i changed my mind and my friend cajoled the owner to return my deposit. :p

50lux is quite easy to get from local dealers. With local warranty. Price has gone up slightly, but it is one the best lens to own!
