Hi guys,

I been thinking to buy a Leica for a very long time? I'm not rich, it take me quite awhile to get that amt?
I would like yours kindest advise on this camera? Is it worthy to go for it..I can't take m240 too ex le ?

I've been very happy with mine, much much cheaper than the m240. However have you tried RF before? Maybe can borrow a film Leica or other rangefinder and see how you like it for a while. ME is cheaper but still quite a significant amount. The experience also not as shiok as a M6 or film RF.

Read reviews on M9/M9P, there's plenty on the internet. They're basically the same camera, just a facelift. Read up on a rangefinder as well, it's not to everyone's taste. Have you factor in the cost of the lens as well? Do consider 3rd party M lenses as well, they're much more affordable.

Buy and if you don't like it or can't get used to it, then sell :)

M-E seems like a good M9 alternative because you could say that it's basically the same thing without USB/without frame preview lever/different paint, and the M9 is a camera that many love.
The camera is fine, it depends on you.

You will probably have a better luck with a used M9. An ME is a stripped down M9 anyway.

The M9 uses the exact same parts (sensor) as the ME. So if you are unlucky, you are going to have the same problems with the ME.

I think they've upgraded the firmware and fixed all the SD card issues on the ME. Biggest drawback is no warranty if you buy a M9 compared to an ME. Price was almost the same for me hence I got the ME instead. I just got a Visoflex in the mail today!

Just saw a used M-E asking for $6,100 at a camera used shop opp cathay photo @ peninsula plaza. Thought it quite reasonably price.

Hi Crispy, i manage to see your thread saying ME selling at that price? can i have the name of that shop please? thanks

I was there on Saturday and that ME has been sold. btw the shop is Ben Photo.

if you are looking at the M-E, just get a second hand M9 on the forums for about 5k+.

I'm actually don mind getting a M9 but im afraid there are no more warranty for that M9 ?
