Leica M9's LCD issue

I've found something strange about my M9's LCD: image appears to be not very sharp on the LCD screen but looks perfectly sharp on my MBP.

Is that "normal" ?

TIA for sharing your experience.

M9 LCD sucks. It only has 230,000 pixels compared to the 960,000 pixels on standard DSLRs and 460,000 pixels on other compacts like GF1.

Don't rely on M9 LCD for accurate depiction. You will need to zoom, and even then it cannot accurate show you the picture. This however, is not known to be an issue for RF enthusiasts, because "chimping" is frowned upon generally. There isn't that great a need to chimp on the LCD if you know your light basics.

If MBP = Macbook Pro, aiyah of course lah. MBP the LCD screen got how many gadzillion pixels of course look better lah

My M8.2 LCD is terrible too... the resolution is so bad that you can only guess (after some experience) if the photo is sharp or correctly focused. And the colours can't be trusted at all.

There's an upside though... I'm always pleasantly surprised at how great the images look on my Macbook Pro when I reach home! :bsmilie:

I used to have an M8. While I remember its LCD to be not so great, but it is no where as bad as the M9's.

Agreed that it is a pleasant surprise when I see the great image on a MBP :)

Both M8 and M9's LCDs are as bad.

To me its ok. Initially you get annoyed but once u get used to it its pretty good.
It only worries me when shooting Hi contrast scene difficult to tell how if the exposure is ok
