Leica M6/MP Multiple Exposure

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm trying to figure out how to do multiple exposures with my M6/MP.

Well, actually i don't need this function but this function just cross my mind when i sometimes accidentally fire the shutter with lens cap on, my silly mistake.

So thinking with multiple exposure function, i can save my film.

multishot: take the first shot, then turn the rewind button, advance lever and fire again.

using the same concept, lens cap closed but accidentally fired: then turn the rewind button, advance the shutter ever and fire again.

:)

Thanks raytoei, this is really helpful. :)

But i am afraid that i will rewind too much and overlapped the previous frame.

Sometimes, i really wish there is a shutter lock just like M7.

hi,

you do not actually rewind. you twist or press the rewind button, and you **** the film advance, the film will not move ahead but allow you to take a shot.

there is also no overlap.

You can't say ****!!! lol

"c o r k" the advance

the R lever is the small lever at on the front of the camera directly below the trigger, with the "R" next to it (see pic below, sorry didn't have a better pic to use). turning it from 12 to 3 o'clock (or press in some models) will disengage the "teeth" from the film so that you can rewind the film. while disengaged, you can use the advance lever to "c o c k" the curtain without actually forwarding the film.

but remember to make sure that R lever is back to 12 o'clock when you want to advance to your next frame. note if the rewind crank / knob is turning or not...

btw, the MP and the M6 TTL do have the "off" position on the speed dial, but not the M6 classic. that been said, it's not exactly very convenient to always be scrolling it down to "off" after each frame... that been said, what's your camera doing not around your neck?!!

;)

Thanks CJ and raytoei, you all are very helpful. :)

I have been searching this in the user manual but apparently this is not mentioned.
