Was wondering how much a Leica M6 classic body only is going for these days. Was thinking of finally burning the hole in the pocket and buying one.

Just helped a friend get one..

Classic is ranged from 1400 to 2000 there about.. of course the condition tallies with the price :sweat:

Nope .. he went for a 0.85 TTL version .. but he started his hunt for a classic first.. :bsmilie:

Not much diff btw both models unless u intend to use a flash, but that being said there is a slight physical variation whereby the TTL is slightly bigger in dimension.

Mine is the 0.72 version (classic) and i love it. Good luck in your hunt!

so your buddy decided on the 0.85... well, no right or wrong, just what suits your needs.

That was the other aspect I was worried about. Lenses. :bsmilie:

Doesn't the TTL also have flash metering which the classic does not have? Obviously because the classic doesnt have a flash. But it does help when you're taking pictures right?

Yes and no..

Both Classic and TTL model does not have flash (at least on board flash.. duh). The TTL help if you use alot of flash photography..

Most if not all Leica user will not even think of using a flash...especially when shooting street.. just image being chase down the street when you flash your candid subjects

For me I will use a flash, but as a fill in flash.. in situation where there is back lighting and the subjects (friends, family) is in shadow. But for fill flash, there is no need for TTL..as the compensation is done manually..
