Leica Event?

What a pity, I saw ZoomP's comments only after I returned from the Leica event today. Maybe next time.

But quite a nice catalogue I must say.

I got to handle both the grey steel and black M9s - quite a solid camera. Anyway, I also left by 7.05 when they still have not started (even though programme says 6.30) as I had to go for a working dinner. Did I miss anything interesting? :)

3rd3rdwheel: there was a song and dance. And a very pretty X1 model.

Just got back and saw the M9 pics on lightroom. With the 50 Nikkor, it preserves the Nikkor glow. :D ISO 1250 is not bad. There is noise but nothing destructive as details are still preserved well enough. Will upload photos later.

Overall event was nice. very friendly Leica ambassadors. got to play around with it a bit. And he (Andrew) let me use it to shoot the initial song and dance routine.

the X1 "model" - camera or person ? LOL

Nobody took pictures at the event to share? :(

can't wait to see it. thanks Alucard!:)

Wow, ZoomP has become the new Voigtlander's agent.

Now that we can use all lens on the M9, the prices for VC will increase by 100% to match the atas-ness of Leica.

Here are some pics@1250. The noise isn't too bad. All shots processed in Lightroom 2.4 converted to JPEG, resized and posted. No noise removal applied.

Lens: Nikkor 50/1.4 LTM @f/1.4. Yes, all shots are wide open hence the glow. :)

This was shot by Andrew Chew (http://www.advocateimages.com) and the flare is deliberate.

Hi alucard, is it possible to post a larger pic of one of these shots you took? :)

The X1 is indeed impressive. High speed (ISO) performance is very good for a compact frame (camera) ;)

the raw looks like M8's files????

is the so call "glow" call flare????

I am very puzzled by this "glow" thingy. Personally, I like and dislike.. Depends on mood.

Anyway, lab scan cannot be trusted. All go through PS, I saw it with my own eyes...

Bro, got more pics????

I don't know how the M8 files looks like. :P

The glow is basically because of the flaring nature (veiling flare) of the lens when it is wide open. This happens only under certain lighting. There are other pics (wide open) where the flare is not present.
