Leica D-Lux 4 discussions

I have seen many many LX3 discussion but none on D-Lux 4. I am assuming all using D-Lux 4 are experts with this camera. And for people like me who needs more information, maybe we can share more information here.

By that assumption, since you are using a D-Lux 4, you would be an expert too... so you don't really need more information.

Doesn't it come with the camera at the time of purchase nowadays? I remember when I bought the D-Lux 2, I collected the Leica case at the same time from Cathay Photo.

They said now is different because some retail shops do not provide the case free and sell them separately. Anyway glad that the saga is over and I am move on to taking pictures BTW I saw the D-Lux 2 in Schmidt...really small and sweet

Make very sure you buy from the right channel....check Leica website to find out

When I went to J 3:16, they said there is a promotion till end Dec, in which the optional case is a gift.

What happened? It is one of the reason why I'm a bit hesitant to get the D-Lux 4. Maybe Panasonic has better service. The 3 year warranty may not be that useful if Schmidt does not keep it's end of the bargain.

Wah. Heart pain!!! I spend $110 on the case. Keep me posted if Schmidt replies. Hahaha.. I don't mind another black one. :bsmilie:

I don't understand why you make it so difficult... is it a secret that you are not suppose to reveal or something?
Can't you just explain the problem instead of being so cryptic. There's nothing on Leica's website that describes the 'hell' that you had gone through to get the free case. :dunno:

Are you trying to say that you had bought a grey set and tried to claim the free case from Schmidt and that we should only buy from authorised dealers in Singapore if we do not want to face the same problem from claiming the free gift from the local agent? :think:

"We are having X'mas promotion for "D-Lux 4 ; C-Lux 3 and M8 model.
Any purchase during 8th Dec till 31st Dec for D-Lux 4 and C-Lux 3 you can redeem leather case direct from Schmidt Customer Service with valid "proof of invoice"and warranty cards."

i wrote back asking if can backdate. funny the leica site didn't specify any dates. well hope for the best.
