Just want to find out if anybody has tried out this lens. Heard a lot of good stuff going for it but have really got no chance to try it - and it is going for major $$. Just want to know if some of you have tried it and how do you find it.
I've recently be given one which I'm now using as my standard lens on the M7. Optically, it can produce very sharp pics but the main advantage of this particular lens the being able to use it in low-light conditions. However, weight-wise it is very much heavier and bulkier than the f/2 or f/2.8 models (I was previously using an old 35mm f/2.8 Summaron). It does make the entire set-up a bit less compact as the lens is much longer compare to the f/2.8 Summaron and also the f/2 Summicron.
Here's an example taken 3 weeks ago with the 35mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH on Kodak T400CN.
I wish I could afford one, but seriously may have to settle for a 35 f/2 Cron, Pre-Asph. My fave glass is still a 75 Summilux, yummy color renditions and portraits to die for.
My dad didn't like the weight of it (its the chrome version) so he gave it to me. He's now using the 35mm f/2 Summicron instead as he finds it more travel-friendly, i.e. lighter and more compact to fit into his little pouch.
