leica 21/24/28 viewfinder

Hi guys, just gotten a 21mm elmarit asph, so looking for a viewfinder to go with my M8, thinking of getting a leica 21/24/28 vario viewfinder so i can use the 28 viewframe on M8 and 21 viewframe on a film M or in future M9. any experience or feedbacks on this finder? thanks in advance

I had the vario finder but found the distortion more than I preferred. Now using the brightline ones. The Frankenfinder is a bit huge too.

Ic, ya read about the distortion can be difficult to frame esp straight lines... How about the frameview? Without the brightline is it difficult to to compose?

You can approximate the frame on an M8 by using the whole VF window. And just get a 21mm finder for the film M or M9.

I second the option of the CV 15-35 zoom finder. I got mine from Chiif, very well made, bright with not much detectable distortion to me.

All the VFs above are metal casings (unlike the the older ones) and milled from solid brass. Not sure why they feel cheap.

Black and digital :bsmilie:. Never had a need to use an external VF until the M9 came along. Really need a VF now. Even the 21mm was manageable on the M8.2.
