Looks like a 4/3 Leica D flash. I don't think it'll fir the M series hotshoe.

It was pictured with the M8, so it should fit the M series

It is the same Metz 58 for the others....

18 f3.8 is very near 18 f4.

For practicality, the wide angle tri-elmar (WATE) would be the preferred choice for me at 16-18-21.
