Sometimes see pple with those light attachments when they use videocam - it's not exactly a flash unit but a light that will constantly remain on

anyone know where this is sold and what the price range is?

anyone use this for photography?

i've seen my friend use one of these. need to attach a strong battery pack to the light unit. the battery pack is very heavy. r u sure u want one?

its called a Sun Gun.
Tungsten based, but some of them come wif daylight correction filter
anyways, yup, battery can be a bitch to carry arun
and the batts dun last very long....

thanks for the info

so ... where can I buy one? :)

the light output can be very harsh.... though u can put some gels/filters to soften it....
other good brands include Sachtler, Lowell Pro, Anton Bauer, Arri
:)

the whole setup can cost quite abit....
can try Transmarco - its at TradeMart building, near River Valley...
and another place is CineEquip @ Jalan Ampas
:)

Try the 'Video Outfit Kit' at AP. It contains a Lead-acid battery and a lamp assembly which includes a 100W quartz-halogen bulb. Costs around $100. The lamp fits onto any standard hotshoe, and is lighter than a full-sized flashgun.

I use it when doing videography, and it is heavy, but not overly so. If 100W is too powerful, there are bulbs of 50W and 35W. Costs around $5 at SL Tower. Battery run times are approx 45min when used with the 100W bulb, and 90min for 50W bulb. Light output is tungsten-like, but if used with flash, just a slight correction for WB should do the trick.

There are also replacement lead-acid batteries of smaller capacities and shorter run times, but are a whole lot lighter and more portable. Also can be purchased from SLT.
