We all appreciate new technology. Like new AMD/Intel processors ;)
I suspect the 40D will be an evolutionary improvement rather than revolutionary.
Digic III, larger lcd, more mp, dust remover, better interface, more menus and such.
Hopefully I'm wrong, would like to see live view added in this

yes liveview wil be interesting. But we shouldnt get too excited yet,in case canon comes out wit 40D without these features lol:bsmilie:No one knows yet if this is for real but if it is..i'll be a very happy canon user

Trust Canon and N to announce their new cams a few days apart.
We just want better pricing and better battery performance.
Cheers!

OMG 3 inch lcd!!Hope it wont be too ex!!:D

Even cheap compacts have 2.5 inch LCD.
Cheap videocams have even larger ones.
It doesn't cost much more to put a 3 inch one.
Just a space issue.

And better battery meter for Canon.
Even cheap Nokia phones have much better battery indicators than any Canon camera.

Cheap compacts which have 2.5" LCDs are usually low res ones.

More accurate battery "INDICATOR" will be a "GOOD INDICATION" that they are listening to consumers request..... I find it frustrating when the 1/2 batt turn no batt in a short while.......

both.

Canon marketing is doing a very good job. ;p

Ya, ask fighter pilots are they interested in art of flying or are they interested in the latest, best fighter jet. Both are related.

I wonder why Canon sux so bad when it comes to battery indicators even in DSLRs.

They've been excellent in low noise, kick a** lenses, full frame DSLR, 10fps.... beating all the usual competitors I daresay. But battery indicator? Hmmm... Like you know rocket science but dunno kindergarten stuffs!

For those who have used their compacts, you will know how more dreadful it is too! No indicator at all. How about that. Last minute there's a low batt warning and then a short while later, *poof*! he camera is uselessly out of power. Sure, bring more batts but that's beside the point...

Looks tempting and promising...

I think all we want is either for them to scrap the battery indicator.

OR

Same indicator - but the battery info of the mk3 perhaps? :dunno:

OR

Just that indicator the mk3 has and no battery info via the menus

Canon should have solar panel to recharge the batteries!!! lol.... :bsmilie:

Then later like M1 - people would complain - No sun cannot work :dunno: :bsmilie:

But seriously - been using the 300D for so long, i'd say the irritating part is gauging how much much battery IS ACTUALLY left.

Everyone anticipated they would change the battery indicator - but they didn't.

If they had excluded that indicator at least try to have the battery information system like the mk3 has, into camera.

OR

Have the indicator - minus the battery information system the mk3 has, into the camera.

eh, no one mention abt the top LCD, its very useful...

M 1 better than Starhub.... must have stars then can work.... and mostly... lousy....

But seriously... this battery problem is annoying.... is it that expensive to make a good batt indicator for the consumer range too???

canon never fail to impress.. price must be impressive when it is first released.. =D
i like the 3inch LCD.. Big is gd..
