There are different ways to shoot a sunset.

1. Silhouetted
Spot meter to an area near the sun for everything in the foreground/background becomes dark. This will give u a glorious golden sun.

2. A wide angle shot where everything can be seen (not silhouetted) in relation to the sunset.

For this shot, I would choose the silhouetted approach and zoom in on the flats, getting rid of the highway ramp in the foreground (which I find rather distracting).

I don't see a subject of interest in the photo. My comments are harsh - it's an uninteresting pic, I hope you don't take it to heart.
