Just a little suggestion, is it a good idea to have a subforum for the discussion of laws and ethics related to photography.

that is a very hugh and wide subject ..

surely you dont want CS to get into trouble by allowing these as Law can be something very grey and may end up in defamation , suit case or whatever .. :sweatsm:

anyhow .. if you get problem .. find the Law experts out there lar .. :bsmilie:

discussion of ethics shd be okay .. .

Yea I mean to get advise on topics about laws regarding to photography, exhibition, model shoots, copyrights, photography in certain areas, about photo biz, etc.

Should put disclaimer? :dunno:

I'm afraid that all the
- "I think"
- "I feel that"
- "If I remember correctly"
- etc thinking

that may be wrong and be misunderstood as something right may surface... Hence may cause even more confusion... Also, people maybe quoting the laws etc from other countries that may not be applicable to Singapore here.

It will not be nice if people get into trouble and then they say they quote it from here which may not have any basis...

there's always the General, Reviews, Tech Talk section. don't you think CS is getting overloaded with too many subforums?

ya, if wanna start another section, i'd rather a dumping section for ppl to post pics and auto closing of threads... then nobody can critique, poster get the self satisfaction from posting his pics online.

there's always Testing and Garbage :bsmilie:

my 2 cents. sometimes i do see a need for it.

but after sitting back and thinking for a while. i found out that this idea maybe redundant and eventually make CS very very boring to be guided by laws and regulations.

photography was ever about laws.

but the proper guidelines will have to be adhered once ONE decides to hold exhibitions.

but the possiblitiy of having an discussion on how to hold exhibition is rather rare.

redstone. got what i meant ? too much guidelines will make cs boring and make cs stagnant over some time. ;)

I don't think he was asking for a subforum to make laws to govern how CS people conduct their activities on the forums.

i know he wanna a sub forum to discuss about laws like copyright issues and of course the proper ethnics of photographers.

Yeap, so there's no issue of "make CS very very boring to be guided by laws and regulations."

i know he wanna a sub forum to discuss about laws like copyright issues and of course the proper ethnics of photographers.

problem is, no lawyer here to verify the authencity of the information... like youhong say about the IIRC thingy... i think even better is, my fren say... which imaginary fren we dunno...

Which IIRC thingy you talking about?

:bsmilie: I've seen a few cases of different lawyers verifying the authencity of the information in a offhanded way, and they got told off by "more knowledgable"/longtime CS members. That wise, is good enough a reason this subforum shouldn't exist. too much misinformation.
