I dunno mah... :dunno: ;p

Hi Benedict. Why don't you just post a url to your price list, or just list all the stuff you've got for Minolta mount lens? Makes it easier for us to decide what to get from you. Thanks. :)

the MINOLTA's ORIGINAL 11-18mm

Is there such a lens yet? I only heard Tamron make the announcement.... never visit Minolta's website.... please enlighten me... thanks!

BTW, I'll largely prefer Minolta if the price difference is $200 and less.... otherwise Tamron is ok too.... especially if it is an SP lens!

ya... it's KM's

Cool! BTW, is the 11-18mm from Tamron a full frame or digital lens? I get to have a 17-28mm lens on the 7D.... maybe I should wait until I can get my hands on this lens before taking the plunge...

In that case the Minolta 11-18mm is not the same as the Tamron one... cos the Dpreview article mentioned that the Minolta lens has reduced image circle.... I also thought the Tamron one is reduced image circle cos it's a Di lens...

ops my bad...

from KM said:
Note 1: Optics have been optimized for a small diameter image circle in order to work with the APS-C size CCD, therefore the lenses cannot be used with 35mm AF SLR film cameras.
from Tamron said:
Di II: Lenses are designed for exclusive use on digital cameras with smaller-size imagers and inherit all of the benefits of our Di products. These lenses are not designed for 35mm film cameras and digital cameras with image sensors larger than 24mm x 16mm.

I checked the Tamron website, the 11-18mm is DSLR only...

Guys,

"Tithes Marketing has gotten back to me that the earliest we will be having
the 11-18 lens will be mid July 2oo5 /w only Canon and Nikon. Minolta mount
will be coming later. No dates confirmed."

Quoted from a source who is dealing with Tithes (distributor of Tamron).

Btw, is KM coming out with their own 11-18mm??? hmmm... based on dpreview material, it is for DSLR only :(

Cheers...

John 3:16 gave me a rough quote.... probably they dun have stock... I cannot remember now if that was the case. Alan Photo at Funan dun have stock. They told me to go to the SLS branch where the stock is more complete.
