Hey! ur D80 is capable of many things i believe the LX3 is not able to do!

for one u can fit on a 200mm lens and zoom in to the action which the lx3 will never be able to achieve.

U may just be using the d80 for something its not really good at (small, portable and inconspicous take anyway take any pic camera)

u prob need more than 1 camera/lens to fulfill ur needs.

yeah true. But I mostly take street, landscape and portraits (candid), and the D80 is really BIG to bring to school to. The LX3 is already quite capable.

Hi all, just bought a LX3 today. I'm upgrading from regular point and shoot cameras to something more advanced (although still easy to use). I'm new to photography.

Hello everyone.
Bought a LX3 few months back to replace my Nikon Coolpix L4 (puked blood using it).
I just found out that LX3 is fully manual for the aperture and shutter speed when using the M Mode , so am now trying to explore further and let poison seep in.
I am going into scenery and close up photo taking route.
