Last call for Kodak TriX.

HP5+ now good price at freestyle...anyone planning to do another round of MO?

by e way, for tmax user, is it true that tmax don perform as well as trix when its pushed?

I haven try on my 35mm but on the 120mm format, when i pushed 2 stops, and develop using D76, the results was quite horrible...of cos might be due to my camera as well...but anyone has good experience or tips on pushing tmax?

Just wondering how come the local film shops responding to price hike so fast. I think they are trying to capitalize on the current demand for silver which has not eat into the profits yet. Now this makes ordering in bulk online a cheaper alternative.

Btw, my ordering of Lucky and Shanghai films have arrived 2 days ago. The stock-ups will last me for quite some time. Saw quite a number of excellent photos shot by these film from Flickr.

Its strange that shops do not increase prices together at the same time. Maybe ruby got own warehouse full of tri x so they can maintain the old price to sell volume during this transition period. Lol i go ruby the people keep talking about gold silver prices haha like commodity trader liddat.

Wah guys...I just bought the new Portra 400 just now...@ $12 a roll. Die lah like dat! So expensive!!:faint:

Hello...Tmax is crisp and smooth...crystal clear (not milky) negative with natural high contrast.....I usually push 1 stop from 400 to 800...as for developer...I use the recommended Tmax developer 20 deg. C for 10mins ...some have use Rodinal 1:50 @ 18 deg. C with good result too...

I suppose too. Looking from those film shops' point of view they are not in the wrong, capitalizing for more profits due to changes in market conditions. For the rest of us we just have to pay more. Supply and demand, most of the time its perceived value. Personally I am now shunning from all those local film shops because of their price hike. That is why I have already stocked-up Lucky and Shanghai films for alternatives. Just my 2 f-stops.

I'm conducting a Portra 400 MO in the MO subforum, if you want more of that film I can get it at a much more reasonable price.

went to ruby this afternoon and they said no more stock for tri-x?

Wow that's fast :(

Guys, Just do a bulk roll. They are still available.
It really isn't that troublesome.
Cheaper, and you are saving the environment by reducing use of packaging. Make sense no?

I went down to Ruby during lunch to get some colour film/slides and a couple of rolls of Tmax (so that i can check that off my wish list). They still had sufficient stock of bulk rolls. As I understand it, the cost for the bulk rolls may not see as much dramatic an increase.

they still have stock for Trix bulk roll?

From what I've heard and read. TMax is a modern-emulsion type film. Which reacts poorly to pulling or pushing.
