Ouch! Looks like the cost of the trip has just gone up! On the bright side, your sinar will soon have a sparkling new ground glass!
lol, +1 from me. Time for new ground glass:bsmilie:

I use the Chromega 8x10 print processing drum that holds 4 sheets of film, and like it very much. So much that I bought an extra one as a spare in case the first one cracked. They do come up on ebay every once awhile. Set up a search and wait for one to appear
The other accessory that I think will work really well with the Paterson 3-reel tank is this. Its essentially a sheet film holder for the 3-reel tank. This is probably cheaper than most Jobo tanks?

Oh, the Unicolor 8x10 print processing drum will work very well too - in fact, there's one for sale for 5 bucks right now!

This is perhaps the best time to play film.
In the old days, there were no internet, Ebay was not that straight forward, and prices were beyond reach.
And the best time to play 4x5! Not many amateurs in the past can afford to buy 4x5 cameras! If there's any blessing in the decline of film - it's the affordability of these equipment! Just hope that Kodak and Fujifilm will keep churning out their good stuffs!
losheng, just curious, does your darkroom has a 4x5 enlarger and you do wet printing ?
Is it possible we hold a small gathering to do printing? Never seen it done before (Young punk here)
That's a good idea! I find wet darkroom a very therapeutic experience, especially so when compared to sitting in front of the computer doing digital post processing. I believe many on this thread have prior wet darkroom experience, and it seems that SAFRA is still running darkroom courses. I wonder how many CC's still have darkrooms?
But otherwise, I'd be happy to share how it is done at the make-shift darkroom at my office. I figure I can get the 4x5 enlarger set up by mid-November, otherwise we just have to make do with 135 and 120 negs. I'll be out of town for the next 3 weeks, so if anyone is willing to share the experience in the mean time, please go ahead and organize one!
sounds like a 4x5 enlarger is big. yeah these days ppl seems to think of wet darkroom to be limited to the film development only. in fact film development can be done in daylight! (only film unloading/ loading need to be done in the dark) but wet printing has to be done in the dark (with safe light of course). That's a good idea! SAFRA (Mt Faber) is still doing darkroom courses although it take a while to gather enough ppl to start a class. so can go register yr interest with SAFRA if interested. in that case you dun have to worry setting up yr own darkroom or buying yr chemicals![]()
i believe you need to attend their darkroom course before you are allow to book it for future sessions. good for those without darkroom experienceCan the darkroom be rented by Safra member, instead of having to sign up for a course to use it?
