Your HDR is becoming like painting man

hahah, back to my roots.. When i first started HDr, everyone said it looked like paintings.. and I had thumbs downs.. but I am happy that some people (you only) still say the same and thumbs up it now..

:bheart:

...Please check out Mezzotint blog.. He has really nice stuff there!! Especially his night photography series called nocturnes.

Thanks Draken! Well you got yr own unique styled of HDR fotos. It's how you interpret and express your own work thru photography, if photography is an art form to you. Keep on the good work but don't over do it (I mean yr HDR efx). Cheers! :)

EMPTY_STREETS_by_Draken413o.jpg

Empty Streets
I know its not really a street but I had this song playing in my head while processing this photo.

Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets
Empty Streets - late night alumni
Anyway this photo turned out to be more work than it's worth! It's a 2 tiled horizontal HDR panorama of a new park like area recently built around my neighbourhood.

It was more work because of the amount of light flare i had to remove and misalignments I had to correct.. Took very long to do!! bout 2 hours in fact.. damn it..

After all this I decided the colours weren't up to my taste.. so I b&w it to make it work out. cest la vie!

Punggol_Park_Revisited_by_Draken413o.jpg

Punggol Park Revisited

I revisted the park with my wide angle. Used my current abilities in post processing and generated this image you see here.

That was about 2 hours ago at 12 midnight the wonders of holidays! yay!

Contrary to the oohs and aahs you are getting, I am finding your series too heavily processed. There is a lot of emphasis on technique, and little merit to the picture. I thought there was more promise in the earlier shots, but the later ones are too much for my taste. We all go through a learning phase, someday you will look back at these images and be amused. Or if this is your liking, then go for it.

Hi all, I'll be posting my landscape shots here.. It will have HDR's and stuff so.. yeah..

Thanks for viewing and saying your opinions. I am greatful for all the oohs and aahs that people have give me but yes I know I lack skills at photography and I find processing much more fun at the moment. The way I see it is.. what I'm doing is already boring and taking a picture of said boring activity is.. well more boring.. so I like to tweak it to what I see in my mind. Thats why I pretty much am hooked on HDR as it's illustrations of real life. You can make it as natural or as absurdly ridiculous as you want it to be. The only drawback is nay sayers and the die hard photographers out there to put you down. (not refering to you, just a general observation)

So.. at the moment, I am happy just doing my thing exploring my capabilities, seeing my vision come to life and at the same time doing all kinds of stuff to get the pictures I get.

It may not make you happy or pleased.. but it sure does to me.

:)

Punggol_Revisit_by_Draken413o.jpg

Punggol Revisit

After processing the earlier pictures. I decided, "hey since it's 5.50am.. why not shoot the sunrise..."

So Off I went with my bmx to punggol beach which I've not gone to via bicycle so I kinda got lost halfway.. But I managed to get there.. and I was the only one there except for the guard.

This is pretty much after the sun rose though.. I have the earlier ones still unprocessed but I fell asleep on the floor while waiting for this one to render!

Grah it's 2.58pm now.. sunsets?? haha no...

 great captures! i love how the lens flare just falls nicely in place for pic #1! :D

thanks for giving me an ooh and ahh! ;)

Good that you are clear about what you want and what pleases you. You are still young, keep shooting and learning. You have all the time in the world (judging from the fact that you are going out for shoots as and when you pleases). Really, 6 months, 1 year from now, you will look at your own works differently.
Take a look at these people in flickr, I suspect you will like their works. This is the challenge: to take good pictures, process it to such details, you know it is HDRed somewhat, but you cannot fault it or pinpoint its flaws, you have to love it. At the heart of it, it is still a good picture notwithstanding.

(though not 100% of the pictures here I agree with, but mostly I do) :bsmilie:

I do try not to put people down, I try to word carefully. I don't believe in people giving critique destructively. Hope you don't take offence.

No worries man, I still haven't read that book about composition i have.. I thank you for pushing me. After reading what you say I feel more determined to do more beautiful works. I always have this thing at the back of my head telling me something is wrong with my photos but I just put them out to show my current level of skills. I'd like to be able to look back a few pages and say woah.. I was doing that kinda nonsense? haha The only landscape photo I like is the one at punggol jetty sunset. The rest is pretty much experimentations and stuff.

If only we chose to be amongst nature instead of further from it would we be able to see it longer than we are able to now.

Great examples! Look for reflections around you. They are everywhere and used creatively can lead to very unusual pictures.
