My Malaysian friends left their children in Malaysia ( take care by grand parents )
They visit their children every weekend.

Can Singaporean put their children in Malaysia ?????

Singaporean have not gone soft but their grand parents may not be healthy enough to take care of their grand children.
Some Singaporean lost their parent (pass away) before they married.

The infrastructure in SG is not design for people working in shift.

Many of my Singaporean friends have no problem doing shift work if they are able to make proper arrangement to child care.

In every country there is some kind of hardship or even the same hardship. I hope Singapore have not lost the plot on looking after its own.

I also have Malaysian classmates in Secondary School. I knew about their difficulties.

How do Malaysian handle children few months old to 6 years old ?

They will also have same problem if they need to work 7 Am to 7 PM.
No one to take care of children. If their wages not high enough to hire a maid or send their children to child care.
They will also reject shift work.

No matter what nationality, they will reject working hours that do not allow them to take care of their young kids.

Do you guys know if there are loop holes to allow non citizen to run stalls in Singapore as long as they rent from an individual and not direct from NEA?

I noticed many stores are run this way and the whole team are not locals. Then what quotas are we talking about? The fact that hawker centers stores are being sub leased is a joke. This is another HDB that need to address soon.

NEA has addressed the evil of subleasing by prohibiting all new stall tenants from subleasing for full day. Half day subleasing still possible.

The ingenuity of subleasing is that the main tenants make rental arbitrage literally , they do not have any risk, no taxes (eg property tax), the rent is passed on to the subtenant, and they can sit at home for passive income. Ingenious !

That's the same fake stuff as subletting HDB with one room locked. It will become very funny once there is a hygiene issue with the tenant...

If hawker stalls are meant for citizen to earn a decent living, why still got sub letting? If they are not selling then return and let others that need it. Just let HDB, it is subsidized flat, if you don't need, return back to those who need them.
