anyone knows where to get one ? recommend any particular brand/model ?....to hold the cam body in portrait orientation....

i think it would help if you mentioned ur camera model...cos there are so many models of L brackets out there...
oh ya, L-bracket, you mean battery hand grip...which can hold more batteries and also have a built in shutter release...

L-bracket for D70, can mount onto tripod/monopod....not a battery/vertical grip....

You can also check out the one from Really Right Stuff too. I have bought their plates before and the material of construction & build are  .

I agree... I bought one for my 30D. The quality is 1st class but am afraid so is the price.

But no regret buying it.

Cheers

Hi, I'm intending to get my l-brackets fr really right stuff soon. you interested to get together? then maybe we can cut down some forwarding cost.

:)

Using the L brackets from RRS. Prices are at the atmospheric end, but so is the quality.

I'm getting the ones from RRS.. best quality in its class.... their brackets are custom made to mould around your camera body, so u can be sure of the best performance...

Just a question, if the mould is fitted just nice to the left hand side of the camera, where the cables are, then you won't be able to use the cables connected to the camera if you set the camera to vertical stand?

Does it means that NO CABLES in vertical shoot?

It allows all functions with cables to be used with RRS plates and brackets, vertical or horizontal.

now i look at it and i think maybe for the D70 u may have abit of problem... coz the brackets for the newer cameras all have special indents in the bracket to allow the wire to go through... look at the brackets for the newer nikons or the canon cameras...
