if I had been bolder, I would have asked this caucasian nun for her portrait when I saw her at the chiangmai airport

You should have, it'll be nice to have a face shot.

Its hard to make the first step, but after the first few times of asking strangers, you'll be more comfortable

Cheers

thanks for your encouragement and comments nedy

here we have a not-so-smooth bokeh sample from a 35 1.8

which i bought... after my tamron 17-50 finally gave up the ghost.... it progressively lost sharpness (and occasionally back focused) till it was no longer acceptable... it was a slow and painful death ever since a friend dropped it while it was in a bag.

a bit of experimentation with post pro and how I can frame my photos.

the law of the internet dictates that the worthiness of a new lens must be determined by shooting cats.

guess what new piece of equipment i've acquired? :bsmilie:

still getting the hang of it. here the focus is off, on the nose of the cat instead of the eyes

a worker helping to set up the wedding lunch venue quietly, alone with a dignified air.

felt like a fanboy when I met riotvan (main photographer wielding dual primes) and edutilos at the wedding.

too bad I didn't really have a chance to learn from them given the settings and circumstances

and I'm still not getting everything right juggling flash and certain settings under the shade.. need more practice for more consistency and some tutelage as well

2 of my favouritest people getting married

still learning how to use my new lens... managing shutter speed on a tele is one of the few things i need to master

love the bokeh when I nail it under the right circumstances

(2nd photographer favours coming in slowly but steadily)
