My cousin

(facebook keeps giving me grief with this particular photo out of a set... standard dimensions yet lots of artefacts... anyone can recommend or send me a good photoshop action designed for fb upload?)

Usually I just reduce a spare copy of the image to the size/resolution to 1280 (longer dimension) and upload on fb. Fb cannot compress a high resolution picture properly.

i was just telling my friend: If fb only had proper photo hosting functionality. Or if flickr had facebook's connectivity. :bsmilie:

forgot to ask, do you apply any more sharpening after resizing?

how is your workflow like for facebook?

Not a pro in PP but I do basic pp in original image, then reduce the resolution of the spare copy. Then I will do further pp on it for fb purposes. Usually you will be able to see the pp effects much more obvious in the reduced file.

I shoot in raw so I can always turn back to raw file should my pp goes horribly wrong.

But if you shoot in jpeg keep a copy of your original file will allow you to go back to it and start pp all over again.

Raw --> Photoshop
Reduced --> Photoscape (easier interface to use for further basic pp or adding some frames)

i am vaguely disturbed but i shall give the benefit of the doubt that it was a matter of fact thing meant from one photographer to another photographer. :sweat:

i'm reminded that a while ago there was this whole thing about photos being taken without permission from Clubsnap... and being reposted on Hardwarezone... for... consumption.

I said just wanted to take his picture.

then he was like:

"an zhua? ai sio pa?!" :angry:

so his mother had to hold him back. :nono:

been busy trying to juggle lots of things.. final sem before graduating!
