Can I get some info on driving from the Tuas Checkpoint? Which exit to take from the highway and how long to get to Kukup from Tuas Checkpoint? Always wanted to make a trip there but dunno what exit to take. :dunno: TQ.

From Tuas, after M'Sia toll, take Pontian/Gelang Patah exit (3mins), go all the way to Pontian (45mins), when u hit Pontian turn left at the traffic junction (b4 Tops Supermarket/new Pontian hotel, (I think they took down the road signs due to some construction works)) to Kukup (20mins). Park at sheltered bus/car park (RM$2), walk all the way towards the jetty and there will be ppl asking u whether u want to take a boat ride (RM$5/person). Good luck.

No more Tops. It is now Giants Supermarket. Anyway take Pontian road until you hit a major intersection and turn left. It is about 10km from the intersection to Kukup. There are 2 floating village one on the left and the other slighty further (about 50m) on the left.

What about from Woodlands Checkpoint? My dad is very familar with the old roads, those old roads used before the North-South Highway was built, but of course, it takes nearly 3 hours to reach Kukup.

Can anyone advice?

For woodlands chkpt, after clearing m'sia customs, stick to the coast (narrow road), and after a while u will hit the main road, continue on this main road and look out for the Pontian turn-left sign.

I juz visited kukup new year weekend & alas didn't bring along my S2. There r a lot of migratory birds & especially those perching on top of e greenery r worth a shoot. The "red forest" is also worth to visit of course (RM$1). Good luck.

Anyone goin in? which day? i bringing D50+my kit lenses as well as the 55-200mm in as well. Ned to test it there as well.

The boat ride will take u to the relatively new nature reserve in kukup that the boat men call "hong shu ling". It's something like our sungei buloh...
