26-09-11: The vibrant reds of Jungfraubahn against the backdrop of the Alps. Swiss trains are efficient. On time, safe and great rail experience. Our transport claims world class standards but pales in comparison. Their maintenance works were way much more frequent and extensive as safety and availability is of top priority, which explain why their cost of transport is high.
26-09-11: I am in no way a racist. Lol... But this picture which I took, I have a story to tell. I have to say these people were really inconsiderate. While the station master were urging them to board, they too their time for their break. And another thing, probably a granny in her 50s belonging to their group was so rude to take off her shoes in the train and lift her nice smelling and soaked feet on to the seat beside my wife. Oh my goodness. I tak boleh tahan chidded her off and tell her if she care about others. She gave me a smirky face and looked away. Almost spoilt my day but lucky wifey reminded me it's a honeymoon so stay cool and enjoy.
26-09-11: The milky way as seen from the balcony of our hostel room. Met up with a Russian translator at the balcony and we had a nice hour chat while I set auto timer for the capture of star trails.
26-09-11: A 60 shots star trail over an hour. Wished I had gone out of the comfort zone of the hostel to the streets for a more open view but the cold was too much and I wanted to stay and drink with the new found Russian friend. So here I am in the balcony with this constrained composed shot.
27-09-11: Shots taken on day 8 of the trip. On this day, we slowed down our pace to take in Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. This shot was taken on an early morning, no real sunrise, but just a shot of the Staubbachfalle with the valleys and the warm morning rays.
27-09-11: A shot of the high gondola lift traffic to and fro Grindelwald First. It was not the first encounter with gondola lift but I was wondering if I will be stuck in the mid air if the thing breaks down. Lol...
27-09-11: Black and white shot of a cottage in the hills against the backdrop of alps. In a small country and city like Singapore, it's really a luxury to be able to see such open spaces. Overpopulation has made this kind of spaces especially precious.
27-09-11: Panoramic stitch of 5 shots of the view from Grindelwald First. This panorama shows a lone hiker looking out towards the far away alps, enjoying the peace and quietness of nature. The lines from the stone paths formed a isolated circle surrounding the hiker.
27-09-11: Close up on one of the Bernese Alps. Memories failing me. I forgot the name of this mountain see from Grindelwald First. Nevertheless, majestic and mystical.
27-09-11: Finding a place to rest after a short hike around First. Only restaurant here at 2200meters is the Bergrestaurant First. Never ordered food but just 2 glasses of wine to keep ourselves warm.
27-09-11: I always wanted to try parachuting around this region. But wifey say too ex and so we never did it. But manage to capture this shot against the backdrop of the alps. It must be hell of an experience to be in the skies with 360 degrees panoramic views of the alps.
27-09-11: While trottibiking down from Bort to Grindelwald, we spotted a few cows grazing or resting. This one chose to rest alone in one corner with the farmhouse cottage and alps in the background.
