is the Hexar a low contrast lens?
i once pushed an entire 4-5 rolls of tri X to 800 and i got super high contrast results.
had to salvage them by digitizing them all.

Not sure what's a low contrast lens.
Negative was taken with 10D + Sigma 105 Macro against an xray box.
This is the original shot before photoshop.
Polarbear formula is Trix 1600, HC110 5ml + 500ml water, agitate first 10 seconds, stand develop for 20 min, no agitation.
