It's not released yet.

I have ordered one, though.

 is this the compact P&S camera?

8MP, 2.5" LCD, GT Lense, 1.8" CCD, etc... wonder how much...

RRP at $749. Do try it out before you purchase, the white balance in artifical lighting is not impressive.

Spot on, tried the camera in florescent lighting and the LCD looks greenish...LCD resolution also seems weak...

In all fairness, most cameras have auto WB problems -- including the 7D. The X1 is nothing more than a compact point-and-shoot, and I expect the result from a such -- i.e. not stellar. Still, I hope it can compare to the Xg and X50, two cameras I intend to compare to the X1 when I have received my sample.

Any input with regards to its battery life would be greatly appreciated.

a bit unspecific but same generation-wise casio beats km for batt
but was at showroom to seeseelooklook MAN it's so cool to touch

I agree with Casio's batt life. Really amazing. That's my benchmark. Their EXILIM series cameras can last an entire week on a single charge (while on tour, typical usage), compared to some other cameras, 1 day batt flat already.

my Fujifilm F10 batt life also last very long. can last 2 full days of shooting with its LCD turned on, took about 600++ shots. wonder how they do it.

Yea, the X1 is nothing but just a P & S camera...But pitted against the rest of the brands it's down right lousy!! No offense intended but I handle lots of camera brands daily and this camera is very bad in it's exposure. Yes, it's cheap among the 8mp cameras, but that does not means it's got to be that bad. Did a demo for a customer today and the under-exposure really turn the customer off.

Wads the maximum capacity SD memory can it take? 1GB? 512mb?
