Konica Hexar tips?

Hi rubric

congrats on gettin urself a very steathly camera..... i've seen RL's hexar af - it's really very very quiet! :)

Thanks, Red Dawn. Got the camera after reading extensive reviews on the net. It's a gem. Too bad I find Leicas too expensive, too heavy and too cumbersome for me, though of course they're marvellous pieces of art and engineering ;) So I believe the Hexar is a good substitute, especially when I need to shoot quickly and quietly.

I'm still toying with the idea of sending the camera to Konica/Minolta for a clean bill of health and software update. But I don't know how long they'll keep the camera and how much I'll be charged. Or is there someone who's kind enough to just try out my camera to make sure it's in sound condition? I find it difficult to depress the buttons, e.g. Rueyloon's tip about press MF and turning on camera. I've got small fingers and try to use the part near the fingertip, and still it takes several tries of turning the camera on and off and pressing the buttons before I get the L mode. Same problem with trying to set distance manually. Am I the only one encountering these problems?

A huge thank you to all who have responded so far and Happy Chinese New Year! Please keep your comments/tips coming. BTW, is there any Hexar AF forum that you guys/gals are aware of?

Hi rubric,

this is probably a good time to ask rueyloon or streetshooter out for coffee :bsmilie:

hope u can get ur camera straightened out soon. there is nothing more lovely than a small and quiet camera like the one u have when out on the streets! :)

although there are buttons on the camera, the cam is best used as a dumb camera. The buttons are not very ergonomically designed. But for shooting it handles well.

Coffee? :)
I can't believe I just burnt two rolls in three days. Usually, I take more than 1 week to finish a roll of film. Now where did I put my dslr? ;p

Reviving an old thread. :) Does anyone know where to get the cloth that camera with the camera? I believe it is used to remove fingerprints from the camera body. Does it work well? TIA.

I use anti-static cloth to clean my camera. :D
