Hi all,

wondering if anyone has tried the above slide-film? If so what are the comments? And also how much does a roll cost? :dunno:

Cheers!!!

Hi

i use this film maybe 70% of the time (the other 40% being Velvia, E200, Provia 400F....)

it's $8.30 at fotoguide or cathay photo.

very good color saturation (almost velvia like, without the over saturation), vivd and very sharp. True ISO 100 speed film. highly recommended, imho...

Hi Red Dawn,

thanks for the info....just wondering if you have tried other slides like Sensia and Astia? The only slides I've tried are Velvia and Provia 100F and I would like to try others.

Cheers!!!

Hi Nitro,

try Astia... u'll love the colour... especially on skin tone... i'm using Provia 100F and 400F, Asita and Velvia... as for kodak... don't really like it... but since local have RUN OUT of Provia 400F, i just boight 2 rolls of RVL Kodak 400.. can't recall the name... waiting to shoot for the result... especially when u push it...

Actually, I found that sometimes E100VS can be too contrasty, especially on skin tones.

Nikon F4S, Tokina 28-70 F2.8, Ektachrome E100VS.

Erm... all "extra" saturated films like Velvia and EVS (E100VS) will make the skin tones look orange. That's the reason why they are not suitable for taking people.

As for the EVS, I found it to have an orange tint compared to Velvia which has a bluish-green tint. For me I prefer the Velvia over the EVS.
