Load the film in subdued light.
Shoot when there is strong sunlight and clear blue sky to achieve maximum IR effect.
Choose subjects that has IR contrast (for eg, trees with buildings, trees with sky)
If your camera's focusing has IR markers, use that as a guide for focusing. If not, try to maximise DOF by shooting with a small aperture or wide angle lens.
Filter bracket your important scenes (yellow, orange, red filters), though i have not tried that.
Plan your roll, shoot and process ASAP. So that you do not leave the roll in the camera for 1-2 months which will cause degradation to the silver in exposed film.
