Hi,
Nice to hear from some film users here, especially OM. I use OM-1 / 2 / 4 / 40 with some zuiko lenses and a rather full complement of T flash gear.
By the way, the series 2 screens are worth every penny that you pay for them. I have it on the 4 and it has changed the brightness of the viewfinder totally.
As for Digital, I have the Camedia C-2000. Beautiful lens and pictures but I wish I could trade for a C-2020 or C-2040 just for the manual mode alone.:dunno:

hi i anybody knows where can i send my OM-4 for repair?
i think the electronics is dead, as there are no metering in
the viewfinder even when new battries have been replaced.
i have call Olympus Service Centre and they said there is no more spare
part for all of their OM systems...

perhaps you can try camtech at www.zuiko.com The procedures for new customers can be rather tedious though.

Unfortunately when I inherited the OM-1 from my Dad (who in turn inherited it from my Uncle) it is in quite bad shape--scratched focussing screen, dirty mirror, etc.
Neverthless, it's still working fine and dandy, even though it's probably older than me!
Is there any place in Singapore that I can bring my OM-1 for a checkup?

Wow an Olumpus OM thread. I thought I was extinct in using an OM-1N (I have 3 bodies) and around 12 Zuiko Lenses (not for sale so don't ask please).
It's been a long time since I took a picture with these cameras - last time was one year ago. I have always maintained my cameras well but Olympus Singapore does not service them anymore. Anyone Know of a good tech that can do the job proberly and change all the light seals etc?
Also where can I get Kodakchrome in Singapore? Ruby has been out of it for 1 year plus

Have a OM2 with 50mm f1.4. DOn't shoot much with it nowadays. Might expand on the lenses one day if I have the dough.
QUite difficult to find 2nd hand lenses for it.

ha.. i sold my 24/2.8 and 35/2 couple of months back.. selling your gear to shops now might not be a good idea as they'll tend to say things like "nobody uses it now".. "it's hard for me to sell it off" and stuff like that.
guess selling it to om users might be a better idea.

Hi all,
Glad to have found a local OM user group.
My OM2n has been giving me problems lately & hope to get some advice.
Everytime the camera selects a high shutter speed (1/500-1/1000) in Auto Mode, the shutter appears to be functioning normally in my view finder. However when I develop the photos or slides, the right half of my photo frame gets blacked out. I was not using flash during those times so it is not a flash sync issue.
Anybody has any idea what is wrong with my camera & how I can solve it?
