Taking this opportunity, I went to the foxhole to feel/experience what it was 70 years ago.
I do dig the same identical size of foxhole during my National service days.

Using my camera, I take photos as what would be the view of GI inside the foxhole.

My wife taking a photo shoot of me at the Forest of Foy.

View of GIs inside the foxhole.
One can imagine the kind of battered and weather condition 70 years ago.

The 506th was charging towards Foy after being hit by suspected Flak 36s.

Several men was lost in the initial charge, however, they were still able to take the town despite the losses.

May 2010 - Would you dare to do a 600 meters charge in a open field today ?

A remaining, hidden German sniper killed a few of the men after the assault but was quickly discovered and neutralized.

Am always amazed by and respectful of your post...

Hopefully one day you are able to do one for Battle of the Kursk or the Pacific War...

Yes, I do hope to visit Kursk, Stalingrad in the future.

More updates coming soon.

Thank you very much for the history lesson...

It's one thing to see the pictures from history books, it's another to see it from the perspective of the then soldiers.

Glad that you enjoy it. :)

Due to my work schedule and family commitment, I am unable to post often.
I didn't expect the thread to go almost 5 years long.

Stay tune as I will be posting the finale of many photos which I have finally completed.
