black as in super underexposed? and white as in super overexposed? Try this;
28mm set aperture ring at f11.
ISO set 200
Flash setting -2.0
M mode 1/180s
See if ur shots improve^^ Later help u make an on-board flash diffuser.

Thanks! It works! But having quite a hard time as I can't hardly get a clear view with the reverse mount (seems rather dark)

:bsmilie: Not bad. With diffuser on should be better. Ya the more f value u use the darker it is to focus. You can try, ISO100, f8, 1/180s for easier focus. In any case u'll condition ur eyes to focus at narrower aperture as time goes by^^
