Suck all Day? :bsmilie:

They can rename themselves 12midnight

K-pop is low standard. I find it crude and unrefined.
The Korean music industry is not yet mature.
The usual groups of guys or girls moving in militaristic dance routines. The songs are the same old repetitive style.
None of them can really sing solo and without music.
Youthful Image is everything. Video editing and dance routines used to hide shortcomings of the groups' voices.
The groups last a short while and die.
New ones are formed from the next batch of youngsters.

Japanese and Taiwanese/HongKong music industry are head and shoulders above Korean.

Listen to these real singers.

when K-pop started getting hot, i remember the hottest song was Nobody but You. sang by the "Wondergirls". i really wonder where these girls are now :bsmilie:

jokes aside, western music is getting deader. i was driving and listening to class 95 and gold 90FM and the songs of yesteryear were just beautiful. compared to bieber, nicki minaj, gaga and the rest, the singers of the past, and current older singers are much better. the lyrics are also more meaningful than the spattering of trance and electro beats along with the lyrics.

and K-pop is the worst. if you translate them, they're all singing about the same thing, and even the dance routines are so similar. if anyone read about how these singers and performers are trained.. you'll know why. just a factory of human dolls where "talented" people are trained to be performers. and also the smattering of english phrases and words which make no sense. the tune is catchy but that's just it. no meaning to the song.

and their dramas: while cute to watch, after the 3rd one i watched i grew bored of the same storyline, even with a different cast and locations.
here are some of the storylines (my parents watch them a lot)

1) bad mother-in-law
2) trying to make it big in the entertainment industry
3) 2 lovers who will never be together because of their feuding families
4) the bullied maidservant in a period drama

and usually a messy storyline rolled into one coupled with bad acting.

but why does it sell? cute chicks, handsome guys. catchy tunes. romance that tugs at the heart. basically shallow stuff with not much character or background.

but it's appalling that a huge number of people watch it and enjoy it... it's like their standards for good quality programs dropped. and it could mean that our society (and around the world) is getting shallower, with no capability of understanding "your sh!t" and "you're sh!t"

this girl is not bad

the very first famous kpop song i ever heard is "sorry sorry sorry sorry @($#_@*&+........"

agree with you that K-pop sucks....but i disagree with you on the part of korean dramas..... i think korean dramas are better than jap and taiwanese ones(taiwanese ones are the worst i think haha).... some korean dramas are actually quite good actually imho....even korean movies i think are better than jap movies... taiwanese ones are a mixed bunch ,,,they can produce very good ones and or very crappy ones i think
Dun agree on western music getting deader also...... there are a lot of nice western music, its just that they dun get to be played on the radio ... i think in Asia, Japan is miles ahead of all the other countires in terms of music.... they are famous and influential in terms of many genres.. you can name it... experimental, pop, rock ,noise music, underground music ....Hk, taiwan and korean are really nowhere compared to Japan...and the criticsm about the lyrics can be applied to a lot of hk and taiwanese pop songs also haha.... the only korean artiste i found to be of any worth is Epik High., a rap group (not sure if they can be considered K-pop????).. the rest i think...... i can watch the MTV without sound and enjoyed it as much ...:P

i see in the internet a lot of kpop lover defending kpop.. saying the artistes work very hard.. i dun know.. my question is... would you like them if they were ugly? and who cares if they work hard for the money.. their music still ...urm .... ( i am trying to be polite)

i don't even like them :bsmilie: manufactured by plastic surgery. nice to look at, but i wouldn't consider them girlfriend material.

i have watch a fair bit of korean dramas... they have a long way to go in terms of matching the standard of Japanese dramas. as for their movies...honestly i'll go for Thai or Japanese.

after watching too many korean dramas and movies... all i have to say is the same.. same storyline, just different settings.

oh yea. western music. i know much good ones. but the mainstream like Britney, Gaga and the lot. pure rubbish. there was a time when J Lo actually had decent music. but if you listen to what she's singing about now... i feel like puking :bsmilie:

Suck all day! bahahahahaha winner!
