Just picked up the FE 55/1.8. Quick question for those who got it

yeah same here was actually went there for Sony to check the A7/r but no Sony booth

But now Sony also sold the Vaio line...
IT show..they only got Bravia TV to show if they don't show camera then hehe..
Then again, the last time i went to an IT show was donkey years ago..i don't like crowds..and whatever offer they have, they will replicate it at the stores anyways.

Seems like all shops have stocks for this lens and even the 2470 i still stores with plenty..unlike the old Sony days where stock is alwasy short..now they seem to have surplus!
Which is good...i managed to pick up a local set for the 55 for 1190! that's about 200 of the RRP...

higher margins for the higher priced lenses so the discounts will go a little further on the fe55 than the fe35. I've been offered 11xx for the fe55 since the first week of release locally so its not actually a drop in my opinion. Any lower than that a little hard for them to make money and will kena complain by other shops i think.

I believe the rrp are still intact at sony stores.

yea $11xx is already lowest right now and will be for at least a while cuz got 7% gst..
haha no not $1101 la.

the zeiss sel24f18 held its price really well until now which took quite a while, a good lens will always hold its ground for at least a while. sales volume not as high in sg as compared to other countries so premium passed on to us consumers to make up for sales figures. Also sgd stronger against other asian currencies so overseas pricing when compared is a little like apple to orange. Check out the prices in EU, pay 3k+ just for a7r body when first released lol, now its still about 3.5k sgd in germany =s. 1.7k for the fe55 lol.

in the last 3 mths I jave switched systems, buy and sell lenses at least 10x and still can't settle on what I want..I think I spend more time on cs than shooting hehe

Same same for me.... Switch a few systems for the past 1-2 years: Fuji, Leica, Canon, Nikon, and with Nikon D800E, I realised gears/lenses get more and more, and becomes too bulky again. So sold most and went for RX1-RX1R. But really missed 50mm focal length and finally settled for A7R with a permanent 55FE lens.

Haha, i can't give up post processing just yet..i'm not that good a photographer that my jpgs come out the way i envisioned them..
Then again, most of the time the image i envision will involve lighting and things that arent even there in the first place..
I should say, i enjoy the post processing more than the photographing. Everyone can take a photo but everyone has his own style of editing.
