Haha, thanks for all the replies guys! Still a newbie starting out.

As for the seller, I think we should leave it behind. $500 is quite a steal anyway, considering it's competition such as 1000D. Plus my friend commented that it looks like new.

Err. I paid 450 for my backup A200, and it was a complete boxed set, with the software CD, cables, etc etc etc.

500 is only a steal for the Canon camp. The Sony A200 is not an expensive camera to begin with.

ok now i feel ripped off -_-

anyway, how much speed difference is there between a good card reader and bad? I'm using a core 2 duo latop anyway.

CPU speed doesn't matter.

A slow card reader might give you 2-4MB/sec. The A200 will give 7MB/sec. A fast card reader (with a fast CF card) can give you 15-17MB/sec.

A question, for sony alpha, is there any way to gauge my shutter count? I noticed that for every picture that I have taken is unique. Can I use that to gauge my shutter count? I bought it when the picture count was at 120+.

Yes, you can guage the shutter count with that number but I believe the number wll reset once it reached 9999 (IIRC).

Bro Galdor is right.
Once hit 9999 will reset it back to 0 counter again.
