Hi guys and girls

You all forgot what I believe is the ONE MOST important thing about Nikons and that is that the lens can always be used on another Nikon body no matter how old or how new it is.
Sure you cannot AF on a manual SLR or expect an MF lens to AF on a AF SLR but the lenses, with some limitations, depending on which body you use, can always be used on any Nikon body no matter how new or how old.

When I went on a shoot with some friends and needed to use a 35 mm lens he lent me his MF 35 mm and I used it on my F90X, no problem. Just like he used my AF lenses on his F3.

My oldest Nikon lens is about 50 years old, I inherited this from my cousin when he died and I still use it on my D 70s and when I buy my FX camera I know it will perform even better as it was designed for a full frame SLR. Its an old 500 mirror lens F8.

I had a Canon Pelix SLR which always under-exposed and I finally had it fixed and traded for a Nikkormat FT which was my first Nikon SLR and have been using Nikons all the way since.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Can tell me why Nikon better? I bought a D80 over the Canon 40D and I seem to be having regrets.

Tell me I made the right choice.........I need re-assurance. :sweatsm:

Don't worry... D80 is an excellent camera!

Let me tell you a short story

I Was / am a Nikon user for few years. I gave my D200 to my younger brother and was left without a camera body. I went to my fav camera store and was offered a Canon 40D! Great camera by the way, very responsive and fast. ISO performance also quite good. But, (there is always a BUT) did not feel right and when I shot at faster FPS I could hear a vibration along the way as if some one is banging a tin can!

You get what I mean :bsmilie: ?

Within 1 week, I sold it off at a BIG loss and bought the D300 :lovegrin: I felt right back at home, the colors, the feel every thing was perfect.

My friend has a D80 and he does amazing job with it :thumbsup:
