All DSLR prices will depreciate over time so it's normal. Lenses similar but depending on what lens, rate of depreciation varies.

Count yourself extremely blessed that your dad is willing to support and finance your hobby by paying for such expensive gear. Most of us here are using our own hard earned savings to buy the gear that we have. Learn to treasure your gear and use it to the fullest.

Thats the danger of coming into forums like this one. :bsmilie: But it seems nowadays I see people almost everywhere touting DSLRs and expensive red ring glasses. :sweatsm:

Must know how to budget your finances. It's not a must to buy the lens but a must for food and transport.
