Just got a 5060 yesterday. I had wanted to acquire this cam when I first saw the press release online but somehow I held back when it first appeared on the market. I did not rush to grab one as I wanted to keep my options open and was fortunate not being one of who bought faulty cams as evident in the number of complaints in some forum about it malfunctioning. I found the menu fairly easily to maneuvre unlike many who had never owned an Olympus before and took a longer time understanding the functions. Most of my previous digicams were Canon except for my first cam which was an Olympus 2040. (yay). Maybe this helps. My choice for upgrade was narrowed down to the Canon Powershot Pro1, Panasonic DMC LC1 and Olympus 5060. The Pro1, besides being costly about $1700 (I was told), also have 8 megapixel which I find it too much and do not need. Judging from the review, the Pro1, like its 8 megapixel counterparts in Nikon, Sony and Olympus, suffers from a higher noise and CA compared to lower pixel cams. The Panasonic DMC LC1 is identical in features and performance to its twin the Leica Digilux 2 but cheaper than the latter by a few hundred bucks. I would love to own the LC1 as it has the classic analog feel and the famous Leica lens. The cost of $1650 which is more than I could afford. Besides, the LC1 uses SD card. Would have to start my memory card collection all over again if I had bought the LC1. Like what the saying goes "first love is the sweetest" and finally, I ended up like what I first started with - an Olympus (yay). Will start shooting once I understand all functions. Havent have time as I am busy with work. I just hope that the cam will not die on me like the early batches. Willie of MS Color assured me that it will not as its from a new batch and that they should have rectified the fault (keeping me finger crossed).
