After our post expire, that is whatever you said in the post is not relevant anymore, we delete our own expired posts. We shall let Jayan be the care taker since this is his thread. I will delete my previous nonsense.;)

I've killed off my previous 2 threads of the same topic also. ;)

Maybe u can PM Megadark, he has a C-3020z (see, this thread list down who owns what).

Did I hear my name?:D If you are not too particular about resolution I recommend the C700UZ or the C2100UZ. You can get the C2100UZ at around $1k I believe. A 10X zoom by the 2100UZ can really come in handy, even if the resolution is lower. I would recommend the 3040 but that would probably blow your budget.
Otherwise, 3020 is a swell camera. I am still playing around with it and learning its intricacies. For samples of photo I have taken with my 3020Z please visit the links below.

just to ask...is this 3020 very good in night shot? and anyone know how to make a panaroma pics out of this camera?:light:

I'm a newbie here so help me? What do you mean by "good" noght shots? Have you seen the night shots in my gallery? Whaddaya think? As for panaromic pictures, only official olympus smartmedia cards support the panaromic feature of the camera. Nonetheless, the camera comes with the Camedia Master V2.5 software that allow you to stitch several photos into one panoramic one, regardless whether you use the panaromic feature in the camera or not.

The decision of whether to create New Discussion Forums which consists of individual Camera makes will be greatly assisted with a poll. Example: Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony, Minolta or others.

More details will be posted soon, so bear with ClubSNAP as it is now, we will improve with time to meet the needs of the community.

The C-3020z has a bright F2.8 lens + all the manual functions u'll ever need to take a 'good' nite shot...

Moreover, the Noise Reduction function will enable you to take a long exposure shot (for night scene) w/o the usual 'colored snow' in some older DCs.

;)

;p ok i heard someone say about c3020 don't have fast lens. May i know what does it mean?

The aperture of a lens controls the amt of light entering the camera by widening or narrowing.

It's rated in terms of F-stops, the smaller the # the wider the aperture can get.

E.g -> A F1.8 lens is thus 'faster' or 'brighter' than say, a F2.8 lens.

The advantage of a brighter/faster lens enables one to take a pix at a faster shutter speed that would be otherwise be impossible with a slower lens.

Hope this manages to clear ur doubts. :)

Comparatively, the C-3020z has a 'slower' lens than the C-3040z, but that doesn't means that it's not a good DC. Megadark can vouch for it.

I am a newbie, just bought c-2100, count me in!

wah, looks like the C2100 Uzi is really popular......

looks like the Olympus ranking

1. C2100UZ
2. C2040

Both are basically the same except for the lens system. ;)

I might have been an Olympus user too since early last year if Alan Photo had been willing to lower the price when I bargained. The 2040 costs about $950 then without GST.

Count me in under C2100. Bought it today at CK Tang.

Falls within the resonable range. Surprisingly cheap for a DC bought at CK tangs.
