john 3:16 review

It's one of the shops listed in our recommended shops lists in the Priceguide section.
Nevertheless, make sure you canvass the price from the other recommended shops too. John 3:16 is not always the cheapest option, and they are very pro-canon to the point where they talk nonsense about other brands

Their services is probably one of the best but you would have to pay a slight premium on their products. Probably to the extent that you feel bad for not buying from them after listening to them guiding you for quite some time!
Strongly doubt they would rip you off if that is your concern.
Perhaps you can try other shops in the area such as Cathay, T K Foto or even MS Color after doing some research online. That would help you save a few tens of dollars?

Agreed with the rest, unlikely they will sell you a brand-less UV filter same price as B+W.

Not the cheapest if u r new to them
will give u the best prices once u get to know the nice guys there.
It helps even more if u r a pretty lady, ahem ahem. Yes.
If it's about gray or defective goods or poor after sales , u don't have to worry about that at John 3:16

For me it was when they did basic "zoom pull" shots for a newbie wanting to buy a DSLR and insisted only Canon can do that, Nikon and Sony cannot...
I'm surprised. Especially when I have never bought any Canon gear from them and have always been with MicroFourThirds mainly. I thought they sell Fuji too?
So far my experiences with them have been quite good with my only issue with them of course not being the cheapest and charging diff customers diff prices (but who doesn't?).

Maybe because they know you are a customer who does not expect the best deals and just pays whatever price they ask for.

Friendly service. But prices are easily $20-40 more than other shops within the same building. Accompanied a friend to buy her 650D. John is not the most expensive though but still managed to save $30 off.
At the end of the day, regardless of service from the shops, the warranty by the manufacturers is the most important. After 7 days of purchase, if anything goes wrong, you need to go to the service centre. So for me, how fantastic the service is from the shops, it doesn't make much difference. Its the price that will sway me which shop to buy from assuming whatever I am paying for is an identical package as all the others.
If you wish to learn more from these guys at the shops, they can give some good advise provided the shop is not crowded. Otherwise, I think the folks in this forum is equally if not more knowledgeable than some guys from the shops.

My experience with this shop is really good up till date.
Bought both my Canon 7D and Olympus EM5 from them and I also bought a couple of lenses too.
Their service is always very very good. However, they seemed to be anti-Sony for whatever reasons so don't ask them about Sony. They like Nikon and Canon and somehow they don't like third party lenses.
