I found this page through a RFF thread: http://hypebeast.com/blog/jj/2010/04/sweet-m9/

It's good to be rich, I only have a Canonet as my rangefinder :(

omg, the Queen also shoots with a Leica too!! :o:o

Agree with the "good to be rich" point... but the canonet is pretty wicked, just save up for a m lor. The canonet 28 was my first rf, and although I shoot with a Leica now, I still want to use the canonet (spoilt). Quiet leaf shutter, quicker loading, good glass. :D Nothing to be :( about. Haha.

Ya, actually a Canonet is pretty capable, it has a Manual and Shutter Priority mode, just that I'm too used to shooting Aperture Priority :bsmilie:

A Leica M is definitely in my future, but saving up for FF first ;p

Why all his pics all look OOF? Haha I guess it's the f0.95 fault.

Razor thin DOF haha

Y everyone is praising his skills good in the blog???
ermm...i thought its oof...

Cuz people like to carry balls....

Good Ol' saying stays true. Good Camera Doesn't Make A Good Photographer.

Oh no... He needs the 1.4 magnifier . he can't focus properly...

Also his exposure is off. Thanks to the AE... thats what Im talking about...

oh yea..I read that on his blog that he uses M8, then M9 with leica lens...how cool is that...
anyway, hope he can join us for photography outing next time if he doesn't mind me using Dslr...(cannot afford rangefinder, moreover Leica lens!:bsmilie:)

The Old Saying: A Good Camera Doesn’t Make A Good Photographer stays true.
Your M9 must be crying.

Seconded.

I dunno la, I just felt that the shots were nothing special, look more like shooting from a compact PNS really.

His shots doesnt justify the M9 & Noct  He has quite alot to learn about manual photography.

But then again, he has all the money, cant complain about it... But yea, quite typical of people, see M9 & noct, shot sure good, like those on his blog! hahaha! :) I've seen better on 50 year old lenses ;)

Just my 2 cents!

JJ has too little time to shoot and the lack of anonymity. Seriously he probably have decent shots just that they are private and his public image prevents him from posting?

when you are a xmm and you are in love with jj lin..

then everything he does is good.

he go to toilet, you will stand outside and say "very fragrant!"
he fall down, you will say "done with great style!"
he break his wrist, you will say "good move, it's time for a rest!"
he fart, you will say "so melodious!"

I haven't looked at the pics and do not intend to, nor do I know who this feller is.

But I have a suggestion that would from the sounds of this thread improve his photography. But a Canon, or a Sony, or a Nikon, or something with AF in it. Seemples. (and cheaper to boot.)

And before someone like spartacus.ret or some other German glass fanboi points out that German glass >>>>>>>>> than Japanese glass, your lens might be a little bit better but it ain't no good if it ain't in focus.

And it ain't no good if it's in focus and sharper than some other lens if you have the compositional sense of a brick wall.

Well... as far as I am concerned, I am glad someone mainstream is exposed to RF. Hopefully, he will help further create awareness of this form of photography. I don't think his photos are half-bad, and besides why such harsh critiques? He simply posted on his blogs to share some photos he likes with his fans. I don't see any harm in that.
