Jin Yi - The moment

Hi, my apology if I didn't comment on your photo, but more on the fundamental: Do you have her permission to put it up here?

Let's work from the basic, mutual respect between your subject and you as the photographer... Since she's your friend after all...

If yes, then great, let's work from here...

Does TS needs permission, since he owns the copyrights? Unless he has a model release.

Does that mean that one is respectable taking their own friends and put up here without consent (worse when the subject doesn't want so)? Moreover he mentioned that his friend is 'shy' in a way... So that prompts me to ask the question above.

Now are you talking about legally or just be, as what you've said, respectable and put up with consent? That's 2 different things altogether.

Anyway, I don't think it really matters to you much, as this is between TS and the model right? The fact that TS posted the photos for comments means that consent already sort after. It's none of your concern anyway. :sticktong

Due to respect, I always seek my model/friends permission to post on 'maskbook' or here. Even I aware that I had all the copyright of these photos. Thx for your remind anyway ^^

Nice try...at least better than me...=)

There are few pics..really show the joys of the photoshooting....

#4 Get's a thumbs up for me... the smile, the shyness, kind of expressive of herself.

I really really like your series.

For me, your photos truly conveys what "capturing true emotions" is all about.

Natural emotions...no acting, no pretending.

If you put your self in the shoes of a non-photographer, your photos are so pleasant to the eyes.

Technically, I think they can look better if they were sharper, as what most of the critiques have mentioned..

I'm totally a newbie in photography.. just expressing my humble opinion :)

Great Job! and oh..your friend is beautiful...dont just take photos of her..take her!haha...joking lah..

These pictures might not be technically perfect, but it has a very nature feel to it. Natural expression of subject makes this set very easy on the eye. In this aspect, you have capture it well. I like the colour/white balance of your pictures, a very nostalgic feel to it.

But if we have to throw technicality into the pictures, composition, focus accuracy and exposure have to be work on. Thanks for sharing! :)

If you noticed, I'm asking TS, not you :)

Thanks for the reply :) At least I know you're not those that care only about rights and nothing else of respecting another person.

Back to the photo... Did you deliberately create the vivid feeling of the photo? #12 gives a pretty good feeling... Otherwise, thought you might want to use a faster shutter speed to freeze the moment? Those blurness is a little...

agree, the series captured the subject naturally however the post process somewhat defeats everything..

i find the white balance not to my liking. it may be the TS' experimenting on the mood he wants to project but i dont like looking at smiling ladies with yellow teeth..unless the subject really have yellow teeth

I done the tone/color/mood in purposely in PP. I can undersrand its Not much ppl of preference. But we always can accept creativity, cant we?

I am a newbie to photography and so I am not technically good to give technical comments like most have given but yah, could have been sharper the photos... personally, I loved your serie and the idea... very natural and comfortable when viewing... I also would like to take such shots but being a newbie... often kana suan for amature shots that even pns can do better... once again... good shots (to me)...

before I post comments, I check out your previous threads,
this is a much better series compare to the previous one,

tho technically is not there yet, but I like the overall feeling,
it is genuine, it is honest,
post processing is to enhance the images, not to overpower it,
spend more time behind the camera instead in front of the computer.
be selective on the photos you want to present.

keep it up. :)

being a newbie, all you have to do is shoot, shoot shoot shoot, and shoot more. Trying to learn more and post more. I will not scare or worry if there are negative feedback for my post. Cheers ^^ hope to see your post more often

I like the feel of this series, something different from the normal posed series.

Gives this moody, serene feel...

Keep it up! :D
