Japan is lovely.
hope they rebuild themselves fast!

his material sensibility and usage of natural elements are celebrated in this project. it is the purest piece of work I have seen from him.

Awaji, Water Temple
i think anyone who goes to this place will remember this portion, though it always takes a backseat from ando's ingenious slit of skylight. this, to me, is the best part of the architecture.

Osaka, Church of Light
caught a Sunday service in this church. 'nuff said!

Interesting image. I don't think I'll want to go there anytime soon... not with what's happening there now which is a real pity.

wow miyajima!
looking forward to going there

hello,
thanks for all the kind comments.

as for the rather small images, i've got to confess that i used batch-resizing by percentage, and errrr, was too lazy to redo it after realising it's abit small.
so, haha, will take note next time.

and hi, I'll definitely recommend you to try oysters and hiroshima okonomiyaki.
if you're interested in contemporary architecture, there's the usual kenzo tange and kisho kurokawa buildings in hiroshima. but I found Yoshio Taniguchi's incineration plant fascinating (here)
haahh, but that doesn't always interest everyone. anyway, gogo japan! support their economy now!

great series, and the box photo is a true testament to architecture and its various forms :) anyway, for those interested, i came across this link

http://corterleather.bigcartel.com/product/for-japan

leather, red dot, 100% proceeds go to red cross in Japan. i think RF.SG people will find much to love in this package.

Thanks for sharing! And welcome to the RF forum!

Knowing how Japanese are, they will definitely emerge stronger after this episode.

thanks for sharing
really like your shots... you got a unique eye for composition

hello, thanks for the comments.
just realised there's a "Share your RF Shots XX" series going ard.. think I'll post there instead of starting a new thread next time. hahh

Nice series! I enjoyed it very much and I think the monochrome images really add to the feel of the images.

Cheers,
