winter period is sure to have fireworks...

plan properly next time!

you'll really love it.

Well...I did went over during winter period...during Dec 06 (Sea) and Jan 09 (Sea and Land) but no fireworks...

Disappointed but it's a good reason to go back again to 'try' catch the fireworks.

Hahahahahah!!!

i do hope i can see the fireworks man! ;)

anyway just want to ask wide angle lens that was recommended only have a zoom range of 10 to 22mm...

is it enough to capture the fireworks that are so far away ?
:dunno:

Hi all,

Not sure if u guys had problem bringing in tripod to the parks recently but it seems like it's not really allowed...

http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdr/english/faq/park.html

I didn't have any problem during my trip in 2006 to DisneySea though...

Hmm.. i was there in early Dec08, they do not allow tripod but i told them i will put it in the locker. In the end i just carried around and shoot using it..

However, i did not see another person using a tripod and it iwas super crowded. (on a sat).

I was there last december and went to both disneyland and disneysea (for 2 consecutive days in total), and it was quite unfortunate that they canceled the fireworks on both days so i suggest you dont get your hopes up. It was quite windy after all. Best of luck anyway! :)

They dont allow tripods though, so i thought i might just bring my gorillapod and leave the big tripod at home. However, at the security check, they asked me to keep it in my bag and not take it out at all, and they were quite strict about that.

Was at Tokyo Disneysea in Nov 08, did not see any firework as well??
Maybe they have firework in Disneyland.

Am using 18-200 VR happly shooting!!
;p

i think they were supposed to have fireworks at disneysea as well cos i heard the announcement that they had canceled it.

oh man...

feeling abit sad and disappointed now...

so tripod not allowed as well...

hmm.... i guess they dont want people to take pictures of the fireworks? :(

so wide angle lens is better or telezoom lens is better?
:dunno:

mmm... no tripod? guess gorilla pod may be a good choice. Its lighter to carry for holiday anyway.

few things i will do for shooting fireworks in e park.

Choose a spot where no people can stand infront of you. e.g. my last trip to HK Disneyland, as i was using a gorilla pod. I have to position myself behind a short fence covering a small garden inorder to mount my tripod. I realise that its a good choice as no body can stand in the garden thus no BIG heads to block the view.

oh yes, if possible look out for the wind, hope its coming behind u not towards u.

I will opt for a ultra wide angle lens. something like a 12-24 etc. settings wise is will go manual, abt 6-8 sec, F8-11, ISO 100. Black card and remote will be useful too.

yea the gorillapod is also good, the HK disneyland is much smaller then the JP disneyland,

but if you know where to stand you will be good to go.

i'm going Tokyo Disneysea tomorrow! Hope there'll be fireworks, thanks TS! :p

Simple advice, make sure to keep the batt warm so that the life span will not be shortened...

I went in April'09, got my cam ready in the chilling nite getting ready to shoot... then they cancelled the fireworks due to strong wind. :(

Good luck to you! :)

Ya ya, that happened to me as well. Cancelled due to strong wind and cannot use tripod in there...

thanks to all who replied. i roughly know what to get already. HOPEFULLY there will be fireworks man...

pray hard, they're beautiful.

you enjoy disneyland as well?

love it man!

:D

been to hk disneyland and japan disneyland. but at that time no camera. so did not capture the fireworks. now that i got the eos 500d, i thought of capturing it.

never been to disneysea though. heard that its cool!
;)

just came back from Japan Disneysea
rained lightly throughout the day, thought they were going to cancel the fireworks, but they didn't.

unfortunately, the fireworks were a complete let down, i think NDP preview fireworks are better. lasted only about 2 mins.
i didn't even have to use wide angle.. because it was so limited.
i'm wondering if they cut down on the fireworks because of the weather.
