agreed, it's actually quite fascinating but the callous violence is actually quite shocking. I saw families bringing their kids to the arena, machiam like going to watch Disney on Ice, feels wrong.

Beri nice series... thanks for sharing yandao...

DSC8184-XL.jpg

DSC8263-XL.jpg

#69 sequence 2/4

DSC8264-XL.jpg

DSC8265-XL.jpg

#71 sequence 4/4

DSC7971-XL.jpg

#72 lancer - they have this dude on a horse, whose job is to kenna buang by the bull whilst taking the chance to poke it... nt really sure what's the significance but definitely adds to the brutality

DSC7622-XL.jpg

#73 bangz

DSC7676-XL.jpg

#74 notice also how the horse is blindfolded, so tt it doesn't shied away from the charging bull

DSC7973-XL.jpg

#75 of course the horse is heavily armored, but still at such impact, sure tio "xiong-ed" 1

DSC8121-XL.jpg

Cultural differences that we can't completely bridge, i suppose...

Anyway, they're great captures irregardless how one may feel about bullfighting.

Thank you so much for your comments, agreed tt there're certainly cultural differences, but well, abit too extreme for me (I think I was rooting for the bulls after a few mins of this).. haha

the last few shots i wanna show of the bully fights - the death throes and the killing proper (warning abit gory)

DSC8309-XL.jpg

#80 it's like a ritual killing

DSC8318-XL.jpg

#81 where they just stab the bull to death

DSC8320-XL.jpg

#82 stab it and watch life drain away

DSC8064-XL.jpg

#83 death may be a blessing, given the horrendous wounds inflicted

DSC8061-XL.jpg

#84 where even the bull can do no more than puke blood and await the inevitable

DSC8074-XL.jpg

#85 until some1 does takes mercy

DSC8078-XL.jpg

#86 and ends the incessant pain

DSC7911-XL.jpg

#87 after u die, they cut u up some more

DSC7914-XL.jpg

#88 hitch u on a colorful horse-carriage

DSC7926-XL.jpg

#89 and drag ur corpse out

DSC7930-XL.jpg

#90 sand area is gd, easier to clear the blood (machiam old roman gladiator arenas)

The street photos are really nice  , thumbs up for the courage to take them :)

Really shows the culture of the city :)

Hmm not sure if converting some into B&W would make them nicer ?

Cannot really take the violence of the bull fight, #84 & #66 is especially disturbing... But guess its part of their culture too

Nice series of pictures and your captions made them more interesting to read. :)

thx all for the comments, been busy with work lately so not much time to post

Seville - Damn hot - the books described the heat as the "sultry Seville heat" but my description of the 41 degrees heat is in hokkien. Overall, a really nice and chill place - fyi, we were told to be careful when we go out especially at night but well, guess we were lucky tt things were ok.

Seville has a big long-kang (a.k.a. seville river) running thrw the city (machiam singapore river) with many bridges spanning across it at various parts of town. My hotel was nearby so decided to take advantage of the evening light whilst the rest of my pals when to find Zara

DSC9114-XL.jpg

#99 briefly, Seville has significant Muslim influence a few hundred years back, hence many things in Seville, i.e. architecture looks abit "muslim" - e.g. Minarets
